Professional
Experience
Jennifer has
been providing professional instruction to dogs (and their people)
since 1997.
She
has worked with thousands of dogs, both through her wide array of
group classes, as well
as
her personalized, in-home training. She works with all ages
and breeds of dogs, and
specializes in Terriers, rescue dogs, fear/anxiety problems, and
cat-dog households.
|
Personal
Experience
Jennifer has
been training dogs for companionship and competition since she was
8 years old!
Training techniques
at the time were largely punishment based (things have come a long
way
since
then!), but even then, Jennifer made it her own personal goal to
find newer, more
positive ways to shape behavior. She currently competes in Rally
Obedience with her two
terriers.
|
University of Washington Degree
Jennifer has her
Bachelor's degree in Psychology,
with an emphasis on animal learning and
motivation.
Her education provided her with the opportunity to study the
behavior of rats,
macaque monkeys, and even snow leopards.
|
Certified Professional Dog Trainer
(CPDT)
Jennifer
received
national certification as a pet dog trainer in November, 2006.
She is
one
of less than 1500 CPDT's in the world! To become at CPDT,
Jennifer was required
to have
a certain number of hours logged as a head trainer, submit
references from other
dog professionals, as well as pass an extensive exam.

| DANI
MEYERS
Assistant Instructor |
Our
team has recently grown to include a second trainer, Dani
Meyers. She is an exceptional dog trainer, and has a knack
for dealing with people as well.
She has been assisting Jennifer with group classes for many months
and is now ready to start teaching classes on her own. She
will be instructing Fit with Fido, Doga - Yoga for People and Dogs, and Basic Manners classes.
I couldn't be happier with Dani,
both personally and professionally. I am lucky to have found
her, and I know my students will be just as happy to learn from
her.
