Superstar Manners
can be used as an advanced obedience class to build solid manners,
or in preparation for competition in the fun, low pressure sport
of Rally Obedience.
You and your dog will learn how to complete a course made
up of various stations, where each station indicates an obedience
exercise your dog must perform -
stop and sit, make turns and circles,
reverse directions, come and sit in front, return to heel
position, stay as you walk around your dog, figure 8 around cones, and much
more. You will learn how to properly perform each of 29
different stations. Plus,
because dogs are required to walk “with you” in between
stations, it’s a great way to improve your dog’s leash skills
as well.
We
will be working towards making all of your dog's skills more
precise (stay, come, heel, sit, and down), which in turn makes
these skills work more consistently in real life. We will
also be adding new skills, such as a formal finish (return to heel
position at your side), a formal front (come to you and sit
squarely in front), and a down while moving.
